Join us for an exciting and impactful 6-month internship designed to give broad exposure to the day-to-day activities of a team that works at the intersection of world class statistics, computer science and seed product design to bring the power of accelerated genetic gain to our customers.
We are a global leader of seed, crop protection, and digital solutions in agriculture. This position will reside within the Seed Product Development Biostatistics team. This team discovers, adapts, and develops state-of-the-art statistical methodology and computational algorithms that help convert into actionable insights real-time, high-volume data streams, to inform optimized Seed Product Design.
Develop and deploy state-of-the-art experimental designs and phenotypic analysis methodologies to improve genetic gain in Corteva’s breeding programs
Collaborate with plant breeders in multiple crops and geographies spanning the globe to understand biological questions and develop statistical solutions to complex questions
Manage your own research project with the expectation of a verbal report to the larger intern group found throughout the United States
Gain excellent experience that can be applied to full-time positions in the industry, or in preparation for additional graduate level training in statistics or the plant sciences
Current enrollment at an accredited university at the time of internship
The ability to relocate to the Corteva Seed Hub global headquarters in Johnston, Iowa for the duration of the internship
An accomplished academic record through the later stages of graduate studies at an accredited university
A strong interest in applying statistical methods to commercial agriculture
A solid foundation in mathematics and statistics, including areas such as linear mixed models, spatial statistics, and ordinal data analysis
Knowledge of R, ASReml, or related scientific computing languages, the experience managing and manipulating large datasets
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals of diverse language, cultural, and scientific backgrounds
Creative thinking and the flexibility to work both independently and in a team environment
Corteva announced to separate our current advanced seed and genetics business to establish a standalone company, operating as Vylor, Inc. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to legal requirements and board approval. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the separation, you would be an employee of Vylor, Inc.
