We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Engineer to work on a software development team to build and maintain data analytics and decision software systems. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will contribute to the team’s success by building out automated load, regression, and functional test suites. Automated tests will be integrated with the application’s CI/CD pipelines to cover API and UI applications for new and existing applications hosted in the cloud and on-prem.

The test automation role expectations include alternating between establishing test automation tools and scripts, as well as developing software for the application.

Responsibilities

  • Design, document, develop and execute automation test scripts for cloud and on-prem hosted environments
  • Validate and verify that software applications meet business operational and performance requirements
  • Collaborate closely with other agile teams driving efficiency in the Automated Engineer processes
  • Work with QA Automation Engineers to support the department’s Quality Assurance Community of Practice initiatives

Key

Minimum Qualifications – What you will bring

  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • 4+ years of experience in creating and running automation tests for execution in build pipelines to test integration, regression, load, and performance testing of API applications
  • Possess excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with C#, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, or similar programming languages
  • Strong understanding of SQL (MS SQL Server or other relational systems)
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and integration/deployment of test suites into pipeline
  • Experience working in an agile development environment such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and leadership skills

Additional Qualifications - Desirable, but not required

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management, or related field, or equivalent amount of relevant education and experience
  • Ability to work with our community of test analysts to support and share quality automation initiatives
  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., qTest, Microsoft Test Manager, etc.) and with test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Test-Complete, Selenium, etc.)
  • Background or interest in biology, genetics, agriculture, or related scientific field
  • Azure, AWS, or other cloud experiences
