General ResponsibilityProvide on-site coaching for education staff using a Practice Based Coaching (PBC) Model in accordance with the Federal Head Start Performance Standards.
Specific ResponsibilitiesImplement Practice-Based Coaching (PBC) in accordance with Head Start expectations for coaching and professional development (45
CFR 1302.92 (c). Provide individualized, reflective and relationship‑based coach to education staff to support effective teaching and caregiving practices (45 CFR 1302. 91 (b). Conduct observations, collaborative goal setting, action planning, and reflection and feedback cycles consistent with practice‑based coaching practices. Use data from observations, assessments, staff need assessments, and program monitoring to inform coaching strategies and document progress through the PBC monitoring tool.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of coaching activities. Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum, assessment tools, and child outcome data to support effective teaching practices. Applies knowledge of the CLASS tool and uses observation data to support teacher growth and development. Identifies, researches, and provides Practice‑Based Coaching (PBC) resources, professional development materials and evidence‑based strategies to support individualized teacher practices and continuous improvement.
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Rhode Island Early Childhood Teaching Certification or a related field is required. Must be highly organized, have basic computer knowledge and skill, work well in a team environment, have effective professional communication skills to promote effective collaborations with staff. Establish and maintain a trustful and confidential relationship with staff. Demonstrate an understanding of everyone’s experiences, every day.
