Job Summary

CCRI's Department of Biology invites applicants for adjunct faculty positions. This posting is for both immediate vacancies and upcoming opportunities. By applying, you will be placed in a pool of candidates who will be reviewed when a suitable position becomes available.

• Anatomy and Physiology 2
• General Biology (Majors and Nonmajors)
• Microbiology

• To teach courses in the Biology program
• To design and deliver a competency-based curriculum using multiple instructional modalities, including online, hybrid and lecture
• Ability to develop course work that prepares students for the challenging professional positions within the fields of Allied Health and Biology.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to working with students and colleagues

• Demonstrate a commitment to the philosophy and mission of a comprehensive community college
• Work collaboratively with others in a diverse and inclusive environment
• Work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive, and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, cultures, identities, and life-experience

• Plan, develop, present, and modify courses from proposal, to syllabus, to delivery, to assessment, to evaluation
• Teach assigned courses
• Convey knowledge and skills effectively to students
• Continue professional development as an educator
• Use advanced technologies to expand student resources and learning opportunities
• Assess student learning according to best practices in measurement of student performance objectives and outcomes
• Demonstrate creativity and flexibility in pedagogical approaches to a diverse population of students and peers

LICENSES, TOOLS, AND EQUIPMENT:

This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Experience teaching at the college level
• Master's degree in a related field
