We are seeking an experienced Insurance Billing & Admissions Specialist to support business office and admissions operations within our skilled nursing facility. This full-time, on-site role is responsible for accurate insurance billing, payer follow-up, coverage verification, resident account maintenance, and coordination of admissions documentation and intake processes.
Responsibilities:- Process and manage medical insurance billing for skilled nursing facility residents.
- Verify insurance coverage, benefits, eligibility, and authorization requirements.
- Work with Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, commercial insurance, and other payer sources.
- Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, billing discrepancies, and outstanding resident balances.
- Maintain accurate billing records and resident account information.
- Assist with admissions paperwork, resident intake, and coordination with families and internal departments.
- Ensure admissions documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained throughout the intake process.
- Communicate effectively with insurance companies, residents, families, and facility staff.
- Manage multiple billing and admissions priorities while meeting required timelines.
- Minimum of 2 years of insurance billing experience in a skilled nursing facility or nursing home setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical insurance billing and reimbursement processes in a nursing home environment.
- Experience working with Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial insurance plans.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Admissions experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare environment is preferred.
- Competitive annual salary of $60,000 to $85,000, based on experience and qualifications.
