Product Manager

AIPSO is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many AIPSO services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies. However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

• Review several sources to ensure AIPSO’s policy writing forms, policy forms and rating rules are in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Review proposed new and revised plan of operation, policy writing forms, rating rules and policy forms for implementation of solutions (including individual risks).
• Review formal written proposals to Governing Committees for approval of proposed new and revised manuals and policy forms.
• Oversee governing committee and technical subcommittees proposal process and provide subject matter expertise as needed.
• Oversee communication with state insurance regulators.
• Provide final quality check for all research, analysis, product development and state filing documents.
• Manage the publication of Manual Revisions and Policy Forms Circulars.
• Provide technical supervision, support and training for assigned staff.
• Participate in AIPSO cross-functional teams to provide subject matter expertise as needed.

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year accredited college or university preferred. Additional appropriate experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Insurance designations such as CPCU, CIC, ARM, or equivalents preferred. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing insurance education.

10 or more years of property casualty insurance. A minimum of ten years’ experience with state insurance department rate, rule or policy form filings. Supervisory/Management experience required.

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze issues, find the root cause of the problem, and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
• Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills.

• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by interpreting customer needs.
• Provide leadership by example through feedback and input.
• Knowledge of residual market automobile insurance plan rules and regulations preferred.
• Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and exercise excellent judgment in cross-functional situations.

$110,200 – $176,000 Annual

Actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity, and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the candidate; internal equity and other conditions of employment.
