Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) Inpatient Full Time NightLocation:
Providence, RI, US
Hope Health seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for inpatient hospice care at the Hulitar Hospice Center.
Work schedule:
3, 12‑hour shifts (7 pm–7:30 am) with every other weekend requirement; 36 hours per week. Full‑time position eligible for benefits.
- Welcomes and admits patients and families to the Inpatient Unit in a professional, compassionate manner.
- Provides comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process from assessment through discharge.
- Develops, initiates, and revises individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team.
- Re‑evaluates patient/family/caregiver needs regularly and responds to changes.
- Administers medications and treatments as prescribed; initiates prevention and therapeutic nursing procedures.
- Maintains accurate, timely documentation of patient condition and care delivered.
- Monitors patient status, reports changes to physicians and supervisory personnel, and records pain/symptom management outcomes.
- Facilitates activities of daily living, promotes self‑sufficiency, and provides health counseling as appropriate.
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team, assesses patient environment, and educates about home safety when discharge planned.
- Precepts two‑three shifts per week during the first two‑three months.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred). RN license required.
- 1–3 years of related nursing experience.
- Strong nursing assessment, clinical, and communication skills.
- Experience in hospice care and/or related settings preferred.
- Proficiency in medication dosage calculations.
