ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. The position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager is expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers.
- Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc).
- Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours.
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring team members stay current on their individual training.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Process all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner and contact customers upon shipment arrivals as needed.
- Utilize the electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and in accordance with procedure.
- Process retailer customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly, issue refunds accurately using proper payment methods, and manage returned merchandise in the returns area correctly.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
- Communicate Zipline messages, delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks, and complete as assigned.
- Ensure team members comply with company policies, adhere to posted work schedules, approve schedule changes with management, and clock in/out accordingly.
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verify/securing money deposits, prepare bank deposits, ensure night security lights are on, lock doors, secure building, arm/disarm security alarms, and lock delivery vehicles.
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
- All other duties as assigned.
Required:
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
Desired:
- Certified Parts Professional Certification
- ASE Certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
