Position Summary

Mobile Beacon is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead and grow our inside sales team. This role is ideal for a hands-on sales leader who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and is excited to source new business, build pipeline, design outbound sales campaigns, and coach a team to consistent performance. The Sales Manager will play a critical role in shaping how we generate demand, engage prospects, and convert opportunities—while maintaining a strong customer-first, mission-driven approach.

Responsibilities
  • Own direct sales performance and deliver against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Source and scale the sales pipeline through a mix of outbound prospecting and targeted account outreach.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, forecasting, and weekly/monthly reporting.
  • Monitor pipeline health metrics (coverage, velocity, conversion rates) and make adjustments.
  • Develop, test, and refine targeting strategies and messaging for sub-segments (libraries, K‑12 districts, nonprofits, healthcare, public housing, community foundations, etc).
  • Own competitive positioning for Inside Sales: map competitors, surface win/loss insights, and evolve value articulation.
  • Contribute to business development planning to capture new business opportunities.
Manage, Coach & Develop the Inside Sales Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop Inside Sales Executives to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Translate goals into clear daily, weekly, and monthly expectations and activity targets (conversations, qualified opps, closes, lines/month).
  • Run performance management, coaching, and skill development; intervene early on underperformance.
  • Translate campaign results into repeatable playbooks for the team.
  • Establish and enforce CRM discipline, opportunity stages, and lead routing rules.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Marketing to define MQL criteria, co-build campaigns, and align on lead handoffs.
  • Create test/learn/refine experiments for outreach sequences, channel mixes, and messaging; iterate based on conversion metrics.
  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure campaigns generate qualified pipeline and to optimize MQL conversion.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally—share competitive and market insights to inform product, pricing, and messaging.
  • Partner with Operations and Customer Service to ensure smooth handoffs, fast activation, and efficient close times.
  • Provide on-the-ground sales support at events, conferences, and expos as needed.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience required, preferably inside sales or high-volume environments.
  • 3+ years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Experience in building market segments.
  • Experience in technical sales with experience marketing internet access/connectivity/technology services strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Experience partnering with Marketing to drive MQL generation and improve conversion.

  • Enthusiasm and positive representation of Mobile Beacon’s mission, goals, and culture.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding targets as a sales representative or sales manager.
  • Skilled at competitive positioning, win/loss analysis, and translating insights into sales tactics.
  • Proven experience designing and executing outbound campaigns and sourcing pipeline.
  • Strong analytical skills: comfortable with forecasting, conversion metrics, and iterative testing.
