Summary

An employee in this position is responsible for on-site safety support, procedure reviews, pre-construction site checks, post-construction site checks, managing inventory/orders of material, and locate management. Candidates must have attention to detail, strong communication skills, a teamwork mentality, willingness to perform other duties, and be safety conscious.

An ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in the natural gas industry. This is a direct hire opportunity with great benefits.

Responsibilities
  • On-site Safety Support Function:
    • Maintain first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.
    • Review customer work orders from PM’s.
    • Pre-Construction Site Visits:
      • Walk the installation area with the Superintendent to determine running line and potential existing utility conflicts.
      • Verification of existing private & public utilities within the work area.
    • Maintain a current understanding of client specifications.
    • Take Pre-Construction pictures:
      • Pictures of damages in Centerline’s proposed work area
      • Send pictures to the project owner advising them of the damage or if things need to be moved.
      • Save pictures on Daily Logs and archive in projects’ folders for future reference.
      • Potential use of drone video to document pre-construction conditions (concrete cracks, sidewalk damages, landscaping, gravel driveways, etc.).
    • Post-construction Site Visits.
    • Communicate with Jurisdiction when required:
      • Bonds released, etc.
    • Take Post-Construction pictures:
      • Save pictures on Daily Logs and archive in projects’ folders.
      • Photos of completed/final restoration: hard surface, soft surface, landscaping.
      • Photos of general condition/cleanliness of site.
      • Photos of condition of roads/sidewalks.
    • Material Ordering and Returns (Xcel’s BRIO process as well as other clients).
    • Manage inventory and restocking process for materials and equipment used in the field.
    • Coordinate with Pre-Construction and/or Construction Manager for recurring client material orders (stock).
  • Locate Management Function:
    • Call in locates through 811.
    • Act as point of contact for locator questions.
    • Check for positive responses.
    • Document locate status and expiration.
    • Renew locates as needed.
    • Creating and ensuring a positive, professional company image on the job site.
  • Must be able to coordinate and collaborate with multiple personnel from the field to the office.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, have good teamwork skills and understand, comprehend, and follow directions in the workplace.
  • Accept supervisory accountability for the health and safety of all subordinate workers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the natural gas industry.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • MVR clean enough to pass our qualification matrix.
  • High awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules at all times.
  • Willingness to travel to work sites.
  • Quality work ethic and commitment to optimum customer service.
  • Ability to work additional hours.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas to others.
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing to others.
  • Knowledge of the Natural Gas Industry, and its related materials and equipment.
  • General knowledge of computers.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words.
  • The work environment includes a combination of desk/computer work, checking and moving materials in the shop/yard, and visiting worksites outdoors.
