Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed personal sales goals while giving Scheels customers a great experience
  • Answer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise
  • Follow instructions for specific customer requests while maintaining safety requirements
  • Analyze reports and decide on inventory purchasing, merchandise arrangement, and sales trends to meet Scheels standards
  • Stock shelves, tables, and counters with merchandise; merchandise to Scheels standards and set up advertising, signs, and merchandise to promote sales
  • Communicate professionally with vendors and outside sales representatives
  • Train associates on proper use and basic knowledge of merchandise
  • Prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings
  • Attend weekly required sales and product knowledge training meetings
  • Maintain professional appearance and attitude; contribute to a positive team atmosphere and follow Scheels’ policies and procedures
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions; write routine reports and correspondence
  • Perform basic math and use currency, measurements and percentages; present information effectively to individuals or small groups
  • Work assigned schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Promote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and explain benefits

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 1-3 months related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, and perform pushing/pulling; able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally or up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Health and safety: follow safety procedures to minimize risk of injury
Schedule

This position averages about 42 hours per week with up to 2 closing shifts (12:00 – 9:00) during the week, a set day off each week, and 9:00 – 5:00 on remaining weekdays. Weekends include every other weekend;
Saturday shifts 9:00–9:00 and Sundays 10:00–6:00. There is a 1.5 hour product knowledge meeting every other week.

Compensation

The hourly rate includes personal sales commission and base hourly wage.
