Job Title: Quality Planner
Location: Johnstown, PA
The quality planner is responsible for reviewing and evaluating applicable specifications from a quality standpoint to determine the total range of actions required to implement effective Inspection Plans that ensure compliance with Engineering specifications, MB America Quality System and Customer requirements.
Primary objective s:
Adhere to all M-B America policies, operating procedures, and work instructions.Review contract review forms, engineering drawings and applicable specifications to identify special quality requirements.Interface with Production Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Inspection to determine proper placement of inspection and test operations in work order routings.Create and maintain Inspection and rework Inspection Plans for all production materials, products, and processes.Create and maintain Quality Info Records (QIR's) for Inspection Plans.Review weekly configuration reports, update QIR's and create new AS9102 First Article and production Inspection Plans to latest drawing revisions.Identify and verify the availability of calibrated measuring/test equipment, check fixtures, etc. required for performing planned inspections and/or order as necessary.Tasks:
Identify any activities that are secondary to the primary accountabilities/responsibilities, and action them as needed.Create DISCUS profiles and complete/review AS9102 forms.Performs work order close-outs as required.Understand the company's mission, vision, and values and how they are relevant to the role and function. Encourage teamwork, promote integration and accountability, show humility, exercise discipline and work to improve and grow in your skill sets as an individual contributor.Perform troubleshooting on issues related to the Inspection Plans.Perform inspection verification at the request of quality engineering.Skills:
Communication: Position requires the ability to accurately and clearly articulate information both verbally and written to subordinates, peers, supervisors, and managers.Technical Ability: Must have extensive knowledge and/or experience in areas of common manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, assembly, plating, finishing, etc.) and/or Production Planning. Requires Quality Planning experience, experience or familiarity with common inspection techniques and equipment, interpretation of drawings, specifications and sampling standards, general shop math, geometry, and trigonometry. Good computer/typing skills and proficiency at data input. Position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Leadership: Position requires the ability to lead activities in area of professional expertise.Management: Position requires a demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively and efficiently manage own activities. Does not supervise other employees.Teamwork: Position requires demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and managers.Experience/Knowledge:
A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible Quality and/or Manufacturing experience in an Aerospace/Defense manufacturing environment may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or manufacturing related field with a minimum of two (2) years' experience in Quality and/or Manufacturing processes in the Aerospace and/or Defense Industry preferred.
