The Technician and Skilled Trades II role is a mid-level position that performs technical and skilled trades tasks to support the design, fabrication, maintenance, and improvement of systems, equipment, and facilities.

This position requires a solid foundation of technical knowledge and skills, with the ability to work independently on routine assignments and contribute to more complex projects under general supervision. The role emphasizes quality, safety, and collaboration to ensure operational readiness and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Operations

• Perform technical tasks such as welding (including aluminum welding), machining, fabrication, and assembly with minimal supervision.

• Operate and maintain specialized tools, equipment, and machinery, including CNC machines and advanced welding systems.

• Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce high-quality components and assemblies. Fabrication and Prototyping

• Execute precision machining and welding tasks, including gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) on aluminum alloys, joints, and thicknesses.

• Fabricate and assemble components for prototypes and production systems, ensuring compliance with quality standards.

• Assist in the design and development of components and manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Maintenance and Repairs

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.

• Conduct inspections, testing, and diagnostics to ensure systems and equipment meet operational standards.

• Document maintenance activities and provide recommendations for improvements. Safety and Compliance

• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in safety training and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration and Leadership

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, supporting their skill development and ensuring quality standards are met.

• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and team members to complete projects and resolve technical challenges.

• Communicate effectively to report progress, issues, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders. Manager Defined Field:
Machine Setup & Operation

• Review and prepare AM based CAD build files (slicing), configure print parameters, and manage machine startup for production runs. Powder Handling & Lifecycle

• Safely handle, sieve, load, and recover fine metal powders from the additive manufacturing printers while strictly adhering to hazardous material and inert atmosphere safety protocols. Build Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Observe active additive builds and respond to process anomalies, machine alarms, or errors to ensure part quality. Post-Processing

• De-powder finished parts, detach them from the build plate, and conduct post-processing operations like stress-relief, heat treatment, support removal, and surface finishing. Equipment Maintenance
