HSE Officer

Location: Johnstown, Pennsylvania
Salary: $90,000–$100,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time

We Guide, You Grow LLC is recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing organization in the Johnstown, Pennsylvania area for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Officer.

This position will play a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on safety professional who is comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment and understands that a strong safety culture is built through leadership, accountability, training, and consistent presence on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the organization's health, safety, and environmental programs and initiatives.
• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout all levels of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with applicable OSHA, environmental, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct routine facility and workplace safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
• Recommend and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and safety concerns and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Develop, coordinate, and conduct employee safety training and education.
• Maintain required HSE documentation, records, reports, and regulatory filings.
• Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Partner with leadership, supervisors, and employees to reinforce safe work practices.
• Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response procedures.
• Stay current on changes to health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices.
• Serve as a visible, approachable safety resource for employees throughout the organization.

Qualifications

• Previous professional experience in health, safety, environmental, EHS, or HSE management.
• Experience with in a manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, or similar work environment strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
• Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements and regulations.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and employee training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization.
• Ability to identify potential risks and develop practical solutions.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and follow-through skills.
• Ability to balance regulatory compliance with the operational needs of a manufacturing environment.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $90,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
