Job Type: Full-time | Monday - Friday, daylight. No holidays/no weekends.

The Conemaugh Counseling department is a smaller department in terms of staff. They have 1 Psychiatrist, 1 Psychologist, 3 NPs, 2 MSTs, 1 LPN, and 1 other RN. There is an Admin Office Coordinator who helps manage the office. Some perks about this job are the dress code; we do not require our staff in the Counseling office to wear scrubs if they do not want to.
We actually encourage staff to wear business casual or dress down. This allows our patients to feel more relaxed when coming to our office.
How you'll contribute
A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
* Participates in patient care teams delivery of personalized, efficient care with respect for patient's spiritual and cultural differences.
* Provides patient assessment and participates in discharge planning while maintain a therapeutic partnership with patient, family, and caregivers.
* Demonstrates knowledge with injections.
* Initiates patient and family teaching plan focused on a patient's lifetime.
* Administers medication via intramuscular injection
* Implements physician orders and records physician verbal orders
* Makes decisions and judgments in preventing analyzing and resolving patient care or other problems.
* Reports patient status, refers problems when necessary and anticipates situations that prevent/minimize adverse outcomes or less than optimal outcomes.
* Follows the established plan of care and collaborates with members of the patient care team as needed.
* Assists physicians and mid-level provider in completing prescription renewals electronically.
* Documents in the electronic medical record patient vitals, updates med lists, assists in completing electronic flow sheets and documents electronically all treatments, injections, etc.
* Scan lab results and other related medical data to electronic medical record as needed

What we're looking for
Applicants should have a current state RN license and graduate of an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
* Minimum of two years' experience in nursing
* Psychiatric nursing experience preferred
* BCLS and ACLS (within one year)
