American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Neuro Med Surg unit requiring a compact or PA RN license and 2+ years of experience.

• ,it and TIA, seambulation, and general urinary/respiratory diagnoses in an adult patient population
• 22--bed unit with patient ratios of 5:1 to 6:1
• Uses Mindray vital sign machines, GE EKG, and, and cardiac monitors
• Charts using EPIC EHR system
• Requires availility with all shift times including days, nights, and mid shifts
• Weekend commitment of 2 of 4 weekends per schedule or 4 of 8 weekend shift days, with option for straight weekends if preferred
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required only rarely and if needed
• 13-week assignment length

• Active RN license (Compact or PA) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Swallow Screen certification preferred
• Neuro experience preferred
• Must be competent in dysrhythmia recognition
• Will complete a dysrhythmia and math dosage test on first day of orientation
• Requires clear PA background clearances including Child Abuse History Clearance, DHS Fingerprinting, FBI/Department of Aging Fingerprinting, and PATCH PA State Police Clearance
• Requires drug screen within 90 days with no declinations for MMR or TB

• Provide Med/Surg nursing care within a Level I Trauma Center
• Team supported by unit supervisor Stephanie Nolan, MSN, RN
• Facility education provided during orientation period
• Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
• Must be available for holiday coverage as determined during phone screening
• Scrubs of any color accepted; hoodies, t-shirts, graphic apparel, and facial piercings not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time
• First-time travelers may be considered
