American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring neuro med/surg experience and compact or PA RN licensure.

• Neuro Med/Surg unit (8 Rose) within a Level I Trauma Center hospital
• 22-bed unit caring for adult patients with CVA, TIA, seizure, mobility, urinary, and respiratory diagnoses
• Patient ratios of 1:6, up to 1:7 during ED holds
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend commitment of 2 of 4 weekends per schedule (straight weekends available upon request)
• Rare floating required
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Mindray vital sign machines, GE EKG, and cardiac monitors
• Epic EHR system

• Active RN license (Compact or PA) required
• 2+ years of RN experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale and Swallow Screen certifications preferred
• Neuro experience preferred
• Competency in dysrhythmia recognition required; dysrhythmia and math dosage test administered on first day of orientation
• AHA certifications required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active Nursys licensure verification required at time of consideration

• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Must be available to work holidays as determined during phone screening
• Scrub color is flexible; hoodies, t-shirts with wording/graphics, and facial piercings are not permitted
• Must complete PA fingerprinting, Child Abuse History Clearance, and PATCH state police clearance prior to start
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or more from the facility to be considered for travel rate
• Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
