American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Neuro Med Surg unit requiring 2+ years of experience and NIH Stroke Scale certification at a Level I trauma center.

• 13-week assignment on the Neuro Med Surg unit, 8th floor, working night shift (7P-7A)
• 22-bed unit with adult patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:6, up to 1:7 depending on ED holds
• Common diagnoses include CVA, TIA, inability to ambulate, seizure, and common urinary/respiratory conditions; cardiac cases are rare
• Uses Mindray vital sign machines, GE EKG, and cardiac monitors
• Epic EHR system in use
• Weekend requirement of 2 of every 4 weekends, or 4 of 8 weekend shift days; straight weekends available if preferred
• Floating required only if needed, though rare
• No on-call requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification and Swallow Screen preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro experience ideal
• Must be competent in dysrhythmia recognition; a dysrhythmia and math dosage test is administered on day one of orientation
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• AHA certifications required
• Active Nursys licensure required at time of consideration

• Work at a Level I Trauma Center with a wide range of specialty services
• Facility-provided education will be given for all necessary clinical requirements
• Study guide and welcome packet provided in advance for the dysrhythmia and math dosage test
• Availability for holidays must be confirmed during phone screening
• Scrubs of any color accepted; hoodies, t-shirts with wording/pictures, and facial piercings not permitted
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local candidates may be considered at a local rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere on a full-time basis while on assignment
• All candidates must complete clear screenings, including required PA fingerprinting and background clearances, prior to starting
