Allen Force is a 501(c)3 organization committed to supporting veterans from all eras and their families through health, fitness, and recreational programs. Collaborating with professional therapeutic recreation specialists and dedicated volunteers, Allen Force fosters a sense of community and camaraderie. The organization offers four core programs, including Vet Rec for community recreation, Healthy Minds Healthy Bodies for veterans with injuries or illnesses, She Force for women impacted by military life, and VETANK for providing outdoor accessibility equipment.
All programs are designed to empower and support veterans and their families at no cost to participants.
This is an on-site contract role located in Joliet, IL for an Administrative Assistant. The individual in this role will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the organization. Daily tasks include managing phone and email communications, maintaining schedules and records, performing clerical tasks, and offering executive administrative assistance. The Administrative Assistant will interact with staff, volunteers, and participants while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Qualifications- The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a passion for promoting health and wellness, and experience in program development.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and recognize and correct errors.
- Integrity and discretion when handling the company’s financial data.
- Strong mathematical skills and understanding the basic accounting principles, processes and reports.
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very articulate, displaying excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills and can meet or exceed deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint); working knowledge of the following programs:
Quickbooks, Gusto, Salesforce, Zoom and other video conferencing platforms. - Education: Desired AA degree in English, Business or Communications or minimum 3 years administrative experience.
