MINIMIUM PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour

(Position is FWS Eligible)

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 1. Shelving and re-shelving books
  • 2. Maintaining the order of the stacks
  • 3. Assisting with library displays
  • 4. Pulling materials for holds
  • 5. Performs campus errands, such as deliveries between departments
  • 6. Light cleaning of shelves and computers
  • 7. Assisting in processing materials for addition to the collection
  • 8. Assisting the Circulation, Reference, and Technical Service departments as assigned
  • 9. Assist in the Print Room
  • 10. Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1. GPA of 2.0 or above.
  • 2. Enrolled at JJC in at least 6 credit hours in the fall/spring semester.
  • 3. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • 4. Ability to pay attention to detail and attain accuracy.
  • 5. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction, while also contributing effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • 6. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1. Experience as a Library Page or other library experience.
  • 2. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
  • 3. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • -Must be available to work at least two to three weekdays (hours dependent on student schedule).
  • -Total Hours Per Week: 10-15 hours
WORKING CONDITIONS

Duties are performed indoors in the usual office and/or outdoor environment.

This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
