Essential

Job Duties
  • Receive all new band music, stamping, filing and counting music for inventory.
    2. Sort music and distribute to the ensembles.
  • Maintain Band room J-3035 and Music Instrument storage room J-3037. (i.e., setting up chairs and equipment for all rehearsals and keeping the room neat and orderly.)
  • Assist as needed with all instrumental music performances including set up and take down.
  • Work at music concerts
  • Assist Fine arts Secretary as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, not on academic probation, and in good standing at JJC).
  • Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits hours at JJC during fall/spring semester.
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of instrumental (band) music and scores
  • Must be a member of JJC Community Band
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Music major
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail,

4 English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.

  • Demonstrated multicultural competence.
Working Conditions

Duties are performed in an indoor environment

Scheduled Weekly Hours

This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
