EssentialJob Duties
- Receive all new band music, stamping, filing and counting music for inventory.
2. Sort music and distribute to the ensembles. - Maintain Band room J-3035 and Music Instrument storage room J-3037. (i.e., setting up chairs and equipment for all rehearsals and keeping the room neat and orderly.)
- Assist as needed with all instrumental music performances including set up and take down.
- Work at music concerts
- Assist Fine arts Secretary as needed.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, not on academic probation, and in good standing at JJC).
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits hours at JJC during fall/spring semester.
- Computer literate
- Knowledge of instrumental (band) music and scores
- Must be a member of JJC Community Band
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
- Music major
- Ability to work independently
- Attention to detail,
4 English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence.
Duties are performed in an indoor environment
Scheduled Weekly HoursThis is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters. During summer and holiday breaks (Winter/Spring), may work up to 28 hours per week with supervisor approval.
