Position:
Business Assistant – Dental Front Office.
- Monday Off
- Tuesday 7:00 a.m. – Thursday 5:30 p.m.
- Friday 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
- Occasional Saturdays (approximately 1 month a year, 6 times a year) 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

- Greet and welcome patients to create a positive first impression.
- Answer phones, manage office mail and email, and communicate with patients and insurance companies.
- Use Dentrix for patient scheduling and record keeping.
- Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers.
- File patient insurance claims; follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and provide coverage explanations.
- Post insurance and patient payments, process accounts receivable.
- Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients.
- Partner with providers and the team to implement Heartland Dental systems to optimize office potential.

- Experience working in a fast‑paced, customer‑centric environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle PHI in accordance with HIPAA training and maintain data safeguards.
- 1+ years of experience in a dental or medical setting.
- 1+ years of experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable.
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental software.
- Perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Attend virtual or in‑person training sessions periodically throughout the year.
- Complete a tuberculosis (TB) test prior to starting employment in dental office positions (not applicable in FL & TN).
