- Location: Joliet, IL 60435 (Will County) - near Chicago, IL
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: April 5, 2027
- Duration: 52 weeks (long-term assignment)
- Shift: Day shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Hours per Week: 32 (8-hour shifts)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $9,130-$9,630
- Setting: Hospital-based anesthesia; 8 anesthesia rooms
- Charting / EHR: Meditec
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- Board Certification or Fellowship in Anesthesiology (required) - board-certified anesthesiologist
- Completion of an accredited anesthesia residency
- Current, unrestricted Illinois physician license required
- ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable for international graduates)
- Minimum: 1 year of anesthesia experience; prior hospital-based or locum tenens experience preferred
- Provide perioperative medical management and general anesthesia care for surgical patients
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments, obtain/verify consent, and discuss anesthetic options and risks
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia with comprehensive physiologic monitoring
- Perform clinical interventions and perioperative management as indicated
- Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs (MD:
CRNA ratio approximately 1:3) and perform independent cases as required - Manage a variety of case types including general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, and obstetrics
- Contribute to departmental coordination and quality initiatives within the anesthesia service
- Long-term locum assignment (52 weeks) offering schedule consistency and continuity of care
- Hospital-based practice with a collaborative team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs
