Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Joliet, IL, focused on vocational self-contained classroom settings. This role provides specialized instruction for students ages 16-22 with life skills needs. Working onsite in a school environment, the teacher will manage a caseload comprising up to 10 students with the support of five paraprofessionals and two company vans used for life skills outings and job training activities.
Responsibilities- Deliver tailored special education instruction targeting life skills development and vocational training for adolescents and young adults.
- Coordinate and collaborate with five paraprofessionals to provide individualized support and instruction.
- Utilize two company vans to facilitate offsite experiential learning opportunities, including community outings and work-based learning.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual educational goals.
- Valid Illinois Special Education teaching license (IL SPED License) required.
- Experience working with vocational and life skills curricula preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with paraprofessionals and support staff.
