K-8 Technology Coordinator/Teacher
The Cathedral of St. Raymond School in Joliet, IL is seeking candidates for a part- or full-time K-8 Technology Coordinator/Teacher for the school year. The Technology Coordinator/Teacher supports the mission of the Catholic school by integrating technology into the curriculum while promoting responsible, ethical, and faith-centered use of digital tools. This position combines leadership in instructional technology with direct teaching responsibilities, ensuring that students and teachers use technology to enhance learning, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Position Purpose
The teacher is considered a ministerial employee by their role working in a Catholic School and agree to work diligently to support and strengthen the Catholic Church and its value system. By word and example, Catholic school employees support all the official religious teachings of the Catholic Church throughout their personal and professional lives. Teachers agree to play a substantial role in conveying the Catholic Church's message and carrying out its mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
Technology Leadership & Coordination
- Lead the development and implementation of the school's technology plan aligned with the school's mission and academic goals.
- Support teachers in effectively integrating technology into instruction across all grade levels.
- Provide professional development and coaching for faculty on instructional technology tools and best practices.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school and external IT support providers.
- Maintain oversight of school technology systems including devices, learning platforms, and classroom technology tools.
- Assist with planning for technology purchases, budgeting, and long-term technology planning.
- Support school-wide technology initiatives, digital learning platforms, and data systems.
- Participates in professional growth and development and stays abreast of current research through continuing education, educational seminars, workshops, conferences, memberships in professional organizations of the subject taught, and attendance at diocesan sponsored in-services.
- Teach technology classes to students in grades K 8, focusing on digital literacy, keyboarding, coding basics, research skills, and responsible technology use.
- Design engaging lessons that integrate creativity, problem solving, and collaboration.
- Promote digital citizenship rooted in Catholic values such as integrity, respect, and responsibility.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students in a variety of ways on a regular basis and provides an effort and behavior grade for the report card.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support project-based learning and cross-curricular technology integration.
- Builds effective relationships with parents and students through regular communication and is available to students and parents for education-related purposes; e.g., back to school night, conferences, curriculum night, etc.
- Troubleshoot basic technology issues for students and teachers and coordinate more complex issues with IT support.
- Support teachers in using instructional platforms, classroom technology, and digital assessment tools.
- Help students develop responsible technology habits and safe online practices.
- Manage and track school technology inventory including student and teacher devices.
- Assist with device deployment, maintenance, and end-of-year collection processes.
- Maintain compliance with school and diocesan technology policies, including internet safety and student privacy.
- Coordinate narrative reports from the other special teachers to create a grade level specials handout to put in each trimester's report card
- Supervises one lunch period one-two days per week and is responsible for one morning duty each week and daily afternoon duty
- Maintains professional status through dress and communication.
- Maintains a strong, regular personal attendance record.
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students and general school matters.
