Position Title
Adjunct Instructor (Computer Aided Design & Drafting)
Position SummaryAn adjunct community college instructor is hired for one semester to teach one or more courses in the Computer Aided Design & Drafting program. The instructor reports to the department chair and provides quality instruction for the assigned courses, works with full‑time faculty on student assessment, and follows all course guidelines. Willingness to teach at other campus sites is required. Adjunct instructors may submit preferences for teaching locations and workload.

Hiring Rate (Fall 2025 to Summer 2026): $1106.00 per contact hour for candidates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; $1161.00 for candidates with a Ph.D., Ed.D, or J.D.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, refine, and teach course(s) using Bentley’s Micro Station 2024 software application as defined by the CADD Program Coordinator.
- Participate in annual student and chair/coordinator evaluations.
- Comply with departmental curriculum, grading standards, attendance policies, textbook choices, assessments, and other established processes.
- Attend classes regularly; return graded work, college reports, credentials, and other requested documentation in a timely manner; effectively communicate with appropriate staff and chair.
- Comply with all legal and ethical obligations, including FERPA, ADA, and other regulatory legislation; communicate discrepancies to appropriate officials.
- Commit to furthering the mission, goals, and core values of the college.
- Meet all contractual obligations spelled out in the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.
- Industry credential/certificate, or an Associate’s degree in CADD and/or a combination of education, training, and tested experience.
- Experience teaching Micro Station 2024.
- Expertise in appropriate technologies for instruction.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with colleagues and community members, displaying cultural competence and emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated commitment to the college’s core values of respect, inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well‑being, innovation, and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Experience at the community college level.
- Experience with traditional and non‑traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
- Verbal and written proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence.
- Standard classroom equipment and software.
- The ability to work with equipment and tools necessary for the lab portion of the class.
- Classroom teaching environment.
- Lab environment for the lab portion of the class.
