What you will be doing:
Responsible for supervision of student government, student union snack bar, welfare fund and voting services, in compliance with government and management directives.
- Supervise student government association (SGA), maintain communication with administration, schedule and supervise meetings, guide development of student government skills.
- Supervise student union snack bar operators and overall operation.
- Ensure student union snack bar meets all state and local health regulations and safety requirements.
- Coordinate all SGA functions, including administration of the student welfare fund, prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
- Plan and coordinate bi-weekly business meetings.
- Chaperone student government functions.
- Coordinate voting activities.
- Ensure all pertinent student records and data are accurate and up-to-date.
- Conduct group sessions, orientation activities and student leadership training.
- Conduct training for newly elected officers.
- Conduct advanced leadership training.
- Transport students to and from off-center events and activities.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards.
- Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff and other center customers.
- Complete 100% of all required training as this impacts performance evaluation.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
- Cultivate and maintain a climate on the center free of harassment, intimidation and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students.
- Associate's degree and one year related experience.
- Directly related experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Excellent written, verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required.
