We're proud to partner with a supportive junior high school seeking a motivated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join their team immediately. This full-time role serves students in grades 5–8 and combines both co-teaching support in general education settings (ELA and Math) and direct instruction within a resource classroom. With a manageable caseload of approximately 12 students, this position allows for meaningful, individualized impact.
What You'll Do:
- Develop, implement, and maintain IEPs aligned to student goals and instructional needs.
- Track and monitor student growth through accurate data collection and progress reporting.
- Provide targeted instruction for individuals and small groups within special education resource classes.
- Establish a positive, well-structured learning environment where students feel safe, capable, and encouraged.
- Partner with general education teachers to deliver effective co-taught instruction that supports differentiated learning.
- Build strong, supportive relationships with students, families, and school staff to foster academic, social, and emotional development.
Requirements Candidates should bring strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills, as well as experience working with students with diverse learning needs. A Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline is required; a Master's degree is preferred. Applicants must hold an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 endorsement and be committed to inclusive, student-centered instruction.
