Position
Part-time adjunct faculty position with a hybrid option. Classes taught across multiple campuses:
- Sugar Grove Campus – CIS 130:
Comp Science I: C++ Programming – 6:00-9:30 PM, Wednesdays, 8/17-12/12/2026 - Downtown Aurora Campus – CIS 150:
Comp Science I:
Java Programming – 11:00 AM-2:30 PM, Wednesdays, 8/17-12/12/2026 - Plano Campus – CIS 122:
Network Essentials – 8:00 AM-11:30 AM, Monday, 8/17-12/12/2026 - Hybrid, Sugar Grove Campus – CIS 110:
Business Information Essentials – 6:30-7:45 PM, Thursday, 8/17-12/12/2026
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning across various delivery modes including face-to-face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex.
Responsibilities- Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments that align with course descriptions, program objectives, and college learning outcomes.
- Meet all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades, and data collection for assessment of student learning.
- Incorporate learning‑centered principles and concepts to motivate students to actively participate in their educational experiences.
- Integrate instructional and classroom technology appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
- Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 4000 hours of work‑related experience in the field.
- Teaching cybersecurity or a related field at a community college or vocational/technical institution.
- Experience teaching traditionally underserved populations.
- Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into the teaching and learning process.
- Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
- Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
- Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.
