Adjunct Faculty – Sociology (Part‑time, Sugar Grove Campus)

OverviewAdjunct faculty members are responsible for delivering the curriculum, providing instruction, and performing student learning assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to effectively use instructional and classroom technology to enhance teaching and learning. Courses may be offered at various campus locations and in delivery modes including face‑to‑face, asynchronous online, synchronous online, hybrid, and flex (fully remote instructors are not accepted due to in‑person onboarding and support needs).
EssentialFunctions
- Design syllabi, lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments that meet the established course description, program, course, and college learning outcomes while addressing diverse learner needs.
- Meet all college deadlines for submission of attendance, grades, and data collection for student learning assessment.
- Incorporate learning‑centered principles and concepts, motivating students to actively participate in their educational experiences.
- Integrate instructional and classroom technology (when applicable) appropriately and effectively to deliver and enhance teaching and learning.
- Collaborate with professional colleagues to serve the needs of students and the community.
- Model professionalism with excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

100 – Introduction to Sociology:
- Section .923 – Asynchronous Online – 9/14/26 – 12/12/26
- Section .924 – Asynchronous Online – 10/12/26 – 12/12/26
- Master’s degree in Sociology or a related field with 18 graduate hours in Sociology.
- Teaching Sociology or a related field at a community college or vocational/technical institution.
- Teaching to traditionally underserved populations.
- Incorporating technology and multimedia applications into the teaching and learning process.
- Teaching in multiple instructional modalities.
- Utilizing Learning Management Systems.
