Onward Education is partnering with a public school district in Cook County, IL to hire a Special Education Teacher (Early Childhood) for a resource/pull-out setting. This is a great opportunity for an educator who loves working with preschool/early learners and providing targeted, small-group instruction while collaborating closely with general education teams.
In this role, you’ll support early childhood students with IEPs through resource room / pull-out services, delivering specialized instruction in key skill areas and helping students access the general education environment as successfully as possible. You’ll also partner with families and school staff to develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations.

Special Education Teacher – Early Childhood (Resource) - Schedule:
37.5 hours/week
- Provide small-group and/or 1:1 pull-out instruction aligned to IEP goals (early learning, readiness skills, communication, social-emotional, pre-academic skills, etc.).
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and specialized instructional strategies to support student growth.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to promote carryover of skills across environments.
- Develop, maintain, and update IEPs and supporting documentation in compliance with district and state requirements.
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate progress with families and the school team.
- Collect data, monitor progress, and adjust instruction to meet student needs.
- Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade
2) - Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) Endorsement or ECSE Approval
- Alternatively: LBS I + ECSE Approval (if applicable)
