This full-time, onsite opportunity supports students with social-emotional and behavioral needs in a structured, supportive classroom environment. You'll work directly with students, providing individualized instruction, implementing IEP goals, and collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to help students achieve academic, social, and emotional success.
- Location: Onsite in Cook County, IL
- Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
- Hours: 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM
- School Year: 2026–2027
- Caseload: High School
- Provide direct instruction in a self-contained or specialized classroom serving students with social-emotional and behavioral needs.
- Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), accommodations, and behavior intervention plans.
- Support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff to promote student success.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Foster a safe, structured, and positive learning environment that supports student growth and engagement.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students preferred
- Experience supporting students with social-emotional and behavioral needs
- Strong classroom management, behavior support, and de-escalation skills
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and special education best practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff
