Constellation Energy seeks a Fire Protection/Programs Engineer to support safe, reliable utility operations. In this role, you will develop, implement, and maintain fire protection programs for energy facilities, ensuring compliance with NFPA, OSHA, NRC, and local codes. Responsibilities include fire hazard analyses, design reviews, system performance evaluations, and coordinating inspections, testing, and maintenance of detection and suppression systems. You will lead risk assessments, support incident investigations, and prepare technical documentation.

Collaborating with operations, maintenance, and safety teams, you will drive continuous improvement and support environmental and sustainability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain facility fire protection programs and procedures
  • Perform fire hazard analyses and risk assessments for utility assets
  • Review designs and modifications for code and standard compliance
  • Oversee inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire detection and suppression systems
  • Support regulatory compliance with NFPA, OSHA, NRC, and local authorities
  • Lead or support fire-related incident investigations and corrective actions
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and regulatory documentation
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams on fire risk reduction
  • Recommend system upgrades and process improvements to enhance safety
  • Support training and awareness on fire protection requirements and best practices
