Senior Mechanical Engineer

Constellation Energy seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems across our power generation and renewable assets. In this role, you'll own complex projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency of turbines, piping, heat exchangers, and auxiliary systems. You'll perform detailed calculations and FEA, review vendor designs, drive root cause investigations, and implement improvements that reduce downtime and support decarbonization goals.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you'll mentor junior engineers and help shape innovative, sustainable energy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for power generation and renewable energy systems
• Perform detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and FEA to ensure reliability and safety
• Develop and review specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
• Support equipment selection, vendor evaluations, and design reviews
• Drive root cause analysis and reliability improvements for critical assets
• Collaborate with operations, project management, and electrical teams on major projects
• Ensure compliance with ASME and related industry codes and safety standards
• Support commissioning, testing, and performance optimization of new and upgraded systems
• Identify and implement energy efficiency and decarbonization improvements
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
