Senior Insurance Accountant

JCW is currently partnered with a leading global asset manager is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Investment Accounting team. This role supports the accounting and analysis of complex investment portfolios for the firm's clients, sitting at the intersection of accounting, portfolio analytics, and operations. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with investment accounting and/or insurance experience looking to gain exposure to a dynamic, buy-side environment and work closely with portfolio management teams.

This is a hybrid opportunity with 4 days in the firm's Chicago, IL office.

• Prepare and analyze GAAP and Statutory investment accounting positions across client portfolios
• Analyze corporate actions, transfers, and complex transactions affecting income and valuations
• Ensure accuracy of portfolio data used in performance and AUM reporting
• Reconcile portfolio balances with external client accounting records and resolve discrepancies
• Book investment activity for partnerships and alternative assets (P&L, valuations, capital activity)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in investment accounting within financial services
• Prior experience supporting insurance portfolios or Statutory accounting strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of fixed income, loans, and alternative investments
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with data tools (e.g., SQL) is a plus
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
