Job Description Summary

Multiple decision-makers are engaged in plan selection, enhancements and retention, requiring teamwork, strategic thinking and superior relationship management on various levels. Key Responsibilities
  • Receive inbound calls from participants and provide education and guidance regarding their retirement plan.
  • Use plan‑specific and industry expertise to provide information specific to the participant’s individual retirement plan.
  • Initiate calls to targeted participants to discuss contribution levels and encourage appropriate increases in deferrals to support retirement goals.
  • Complete account reviews as requested by participants to analyze individual risk assessment and advise on asset allocation options based on individual results.
  • Offer additional services, e.g., Pro Account for individuals who prefer automatic account management.
  • Calculate retirement projections for participants as requested and provide counsel on results.
  • Provide education to participants to understand individual retirement distributions, transfers or consolidation needs.
  • Build strategic relationships with field Retirement Specialists and Program Directors through advising and consulting, in support of business unit sales goals.
  • Act as a consultant providing retirement plan expertise, recommendations, and practice management advice to field Retirement Specialists and Program Directors within assigned territory(s).
  • Apply knowledge of industry trends, competitive intelligence, state legislation, market movements and investment changes/performance to advise and consult with the field Retirement Specialists and Program Directors.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

    This position does not qualify for employer-sponsored work authorization.
Reporting Relationship

Reports to Manager and does not have direct reports.

Typical Skills & Experiences
  • Education: Undergraduate studies in business, finance, communications, marketing or related field preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: FINRA Series 6, 63, 65 and Life & Health licenses required; must acquire and maintain within the designated timeframe.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years in a relationship/sales‑driven position; experience in a sales call center environment and financial services background preferred.
  • Knowledge, Abilities &

    Skills:

    In‑depth knowledge of insurance and financial products; knowledge of defined contribution plans preferred. Proven consultative selling/advising skills, strong time‑management, organization, ability to balance multiple priorities, excellent communication, positive outlook, receptive to coaching, customer‑focused.
  • Additional Criteria: Leadership skills, competencies and experiences may be considered.

Overtime Eligibility:
Exempt (Not eligible).
