BASIC FUNCTION
- Plan, develop and implement counseling services for survivors of sexual abuse/assault.
- Provide individual counseling services in English and/or Spanish as needed for survivors of sexual assault following counseling standards for rape crisis centers.
- Develop connections with the Hispanic/Latino communities and organizations that serve them to promote use of sexual assault services.
- Maintain a weekly schedule for individual counseling.
- Explore/Develop/Facilitate Spanish language group counseling for survivors of sexual assault.
- Assist with hotline and crisis intervention counseling.
- Accept and execute on-call services.
- Complete documentation and reports required by GACS and for contractual obligations in an appropriate and timely manner as instructed by supervisor.
- Communicate problems and issues of concern to the supervisor.
- Consult with GACS clinical director for support and attend required meetings and events required of all counselors.
- Collaborate with counseling supervisor to assure an effective counseling service delivery system.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and agency information.
- Translate documents as needed.
- Assist GACS administration in any investigation against conduct that is illegal.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Attend staff meetings, team meetings and individual supervision.
- Master’s degree in professional counseling, social work, or related field, and experience preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
- Forty (40) hours ICASA approved sexual assault training (can be obtained upon hire).
- Sensitivity to the cultural and socio-economic characteristics of persons served.
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential materials.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Eligible for one week after 6 months.
Sick/Personal Time12 days per year to a maximum of 65 days. Any accrued but unused time in sick/personal time may be converted to cash at half rate (80hrs=40hrs pay).

Health Insurance BenefitsFull time employees: medical and prescription coverage 80% paid by Agency. Dental and vision coverage 100% paid by Agency. Eligible after one calendar month of employment.
