Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are seeking a warm, thoughtful, and highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our growing virtual nutrition practice part-time, with the option of increasing to full-time. At Wholesome Nutrition, we believe excellent nutrition care is about much more than providing nutrition information; it is about understanding the person sitting in front of you and helping them create meaningful, sustainable change.

We are looking for a dietitian who excels in nutrition counseling and genuinely enjoys getting to know their patients. The ability to create a trusting, nonjudgmental, and supportive therapeutic relationship is one of the most important qualities we are looking for. Our ideal candidate listens deeply, asks thoughtful questions, recognizes the factors influencing a patient's relationship with food and health, and adapts their counseling approach to meet each individual where they are.

Above all, we are looking for a dietitian who believes that the quality of the relationship matters just as much as the quality of the nutrition advice. Our patients are trusting us with deeply personal aspects of their health and lives, and we want someone who approaches that responsibility with warmth, curiosity, compassion, and genuine care.

If you are the type of dietitian who lights up when a patient says, “I've never thought about it that way before,” or who finds the counseling conversation just as interesting as the nutrition science, you may be a great fit for Wholesome Nutrition!

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide virtual nutrition assessment and counseling sessions to patients via telehealth.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments that consider the patient's medical and nutrition history, lifestyle, relationship with food, current challenges, environment, preferences, and goals.
  • Build trusting, nonjudgmental relationships with patients and create a counseling environment where patients feel heard, understood, and supported.
  • Use active listening, thoughtful questioning, reflection, collaborative goal-setting, and other evidence-based counseling and behavior-change strategies to facilitate meaningful and sustainable change.
  • Collaborate with patients to identify their wants, needs, barriers, strengths, and priorities.
  • Apply sound clinical judgment and provide evidence-based nutrition education and recommendations in a way that is practical, individualized, and understandable.
  • Support patients in developing greater autonomy, confidence, and self-efficacy around their health and nutrition.
  • Communicate with patients between sessions as appropriate and maintain consistent follow-through throughout their care.
Treatment Planning
  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans based on each patient's assessment, goals, preferences, and clinical needs.
  • Incorporate nutrition, lifestyle, and other appropriate recommendations, including foods, supplements, and behavioral strategies, when clinically indicated.
  • Educate patients on the relationship between nutrition, lifestyle, and overall health, including the role of nutrition in preventing and managing chronic conditions.
  • Recognize when a patient's needs fall outside the dietitian's scope of practice and make appropriate referrals or collaborate with other healthcare professionals when indicated.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Collaborate with our team of dietitians and other healthcare professionals to provide thoughtful, integrated patient care.
  • Communicate complex nutrition information clearly, accurately, and supportively.
  • Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and opportunities for clinical collaboration and learning.
  • Stay curious and informed about current nutrition research, clinical guidelines, and emerging evidence.
  • Communicate with patients…
