Shift: Day (MON-FRI, 8 AM-4:30 PM, 8 HOURS per day, 40 hours per pay period)
Pay Rate/Range: $85,000 - $106,000
Job SummaryThis position is responsible for designing and implementing integration solutions between Epic and other systems. The Laboratory Analyst will be involved in the full life cycle of interface development including requirements gathering, build, test, go‑live, and production support. The Laboratory Analyst will use strong technical skills and business understanding to solve issues related to the health system interface(s).
Essential Functions- Develop and maintain HL7 specifications for all required interfaces.
- Document integration workflows for all states.
- Develop software and execute test plans.
- Create computer applications and design output to support hospital departments, automating routines for time and error savings.
- Enhance and modify data entry procedures and interface specifics for existing and new applications.
- Design, test, and document operating procedures; maintain and document programs.
- Stay current on computer hardware, software, and networking developments and recommend improvements.
- Assist with validation testing for upgrades and IT changes.
- Implement new test changes and upgrade implementations.
- Review and update Epic testing/specimen requirements to align with procedures.
- Troubleshoot applications and system problems reported by operations or users.
- Attend Epic training and attain certification within nine months of hire.
- Collaborate with laboratory department leadership.
- Associate Degree or three to five years of computer programmer/analyst experience working in healthcare.
- Training and certification with integration engines such as Lyniate (Corepoint), Inter Systems, Rhapsody, Iguana, or Mirth Connect are desired.
- Epic certification is preferred.
- Ability to relate well to all types of people and act in a supportive and positive manner.
