Role Overview
The Senior IT Service Desk Technician leads the support, operation, and maintenance for the user computing environment for the Computing and Environmental Life Sciences directorate and supports users from associated divisions and their collaborators.
What You Will Do- Hardware troubleshooting
- Software installation
- Configuration changes
- Deploying new equipment
- Handling tickets
- Documentation
- Providing technical guidance to Tier-1 and Tier-2 support engineers
This position requires an advanced ability to write internal and user-facing documentation, develop strategies for maintaining the software and hardware lifecycle, and coordinate with internal partners and external vendors.
Requirements- High school diploma and 10+ years of experience
- Associate's degree and 8+ years of experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of operating and software systems
- Strong knowledge of Virtual Machine technologies
- Experience in programming or script writing and automation
- Mastering usage of JAMF Pro, Ansible, internal Argonne tools, Service Now, Fresh Service, Beyond Trust / Bomgar, Tanium, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Slack, and Wordpress
- Comprehensive benefits
