The Claims Specialist is a full-time, on-site position based in Joliet, IL. This role is responsible for managing freight and insurance claims from initial report through resolution, including gathering documentation, reviewing bills of lading, delivery receipts, and damage reports, and communicating with carriers, customers, and insurance representatives. The Claims Specialist will analyze claim details, determine liability, prepare claim files, and maintain accurate records in company systems.

Daily tasks include responding to inquiries, following up on open claims, tracking claim status, and preparing summary reports for management. The role also supports process improvements, ensures adherence to company policies and industry regulations, and collaborates with operations and accounting to resolve billing and service issues related to claims.

• Strong claims-focused expertise, including Claims Management and Claims Handling skills.
• Solid Analytical Skills to review documentation, identify patterns, and determine liability.
• Knowledge of Insurance processes and terminology, preferably in transportation or logistics.
• Effective Communication skills for interacting with customers, carriers, insurance contacts, and internal teams.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple claims and deadlines.
• Proficiency with office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, claim management tools).
• Ability to work on-site in Joliet, IL and collaborate with a small, fast-paced team.
• Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or insurance claims is strongly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, logistics, or insurance is a plus.
