Underwriting Assistant Summary

This role focuses on providing technical underwriting and administrative support for property coverages at the U.S. subsidiary of a leading global Japanese property and casualty (P&

C) insurance group. Working under minimal supervision, the assistant will handle account setup, data collection, rating, and policy/endorsement issuance for assigned new and renewal accounts, contributing to the efficient functioning of the Chicago office and delivering high-quality customer service.

Underwriting Support & Administration

• Collect, reconcile, and analyze submission data (exposures, loss history, financials) to prepare policy/account files for underwriter review.
• Input financial and statistical information accurately into systems to process quotes, policies, reinsurance, and endorsements.
• Produce quotes, binders, and policy documents for new and renewal accounts with minimal guidance from Underwriters.
• Manage reinsurance tasks and input data into Cat Modeling templates, providing underwriters with baseline analyses (e.g., flood zone information).
• Process mid-term premium and non-premium bearing endorsement transactions within authorized thresholds.
• Respond promptly to broker service requests (loss runs, missing documentation, billing inquiries) and maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Order and review Risk Engineering/inspection reports, summarizing key findings to ensure compliance with risk management standards.

• Full-Time.（8:30-17:00）
• Hybrid work style: 4 days on-site per week as standard.
