Shift & Pay

1st Shift Sun-Wed 5am-3:30pm — $21/hr

2nd Shift Wed-Sat 5am-3:30pm — $21/hr

Job Purpose

The Inventory Control Lead is responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts in stockrooms, warehouses, or yards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains the layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors in items stored.
  • Studies records and recommends remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels.
  • Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.
  • Prepares composite reports from individual reports of Inventory Specialists.
  • Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
  • Issues written/oral instructions and expedites workflow with team members.
  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
  • Other tasks as assigned by manager.
  • Travel requirement to assist other facilities and having reliable transportation.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks, and pallets.
  • Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
  • Experience operating a forklift and cherry picker/high lift.
  • Experience using WMS software (Synapse preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Inventory Control practices; KPI reporting, coordinating cycle count programs, product rotation.
  • PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
Education and/or Experience Required
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
Language Skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
