Overview
The Director of Clinical Operations is responsible for the operational performance of multiple clinics and locations. Provides management and oversight functions for assigned clinics; collaborating with the Vice President of Clinical Operations, physician leaders, physicians/providers and management team to ensure high quality patient care.

- Specialized Knowledge: Takes initiative and exercises independent judgement, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- Knowledge of personnel administration and patient relations principles.
- Knowledge of fiscal management and good interpersonal skills.
- Plans and implements programs, organizes functions of departments, maintains efficient operations.
- Self‑motivated and responsible for patient care in assigned departments.
- Communicates (verbal and written) effectively with all members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Develops, analyzes, and manages capital and operating budget within agreed upon standards.
- Monitors employee performance.
- Ensures timely communications to goal set, performance evaluations, wage increases, continued personnel actions.
- Provide leadership, vision, and management to assigned department(s).
- Sets departmental strategic direction and develops appropriate tactical plans.
- Meet current and future strategic objectives.
- Ensures smooth operation of all departmental functions according to approved policies.
- Works in accordance with all state/federal laws, standards of professional practice, and applicable accreditation standards.
- Responsible for building a dynamic team dedicated to attaining optimal outcomes.
- Establishes and ensures that the overall objectives relating to the Carle Experience are achieved.
- Develops annual department goals and continuously monitors performance.
- Develops, reviews, and revises department policies and procedures.
- Provides performance reviews for staff and APP's.
- Identifies opportunities for feedback, growth, and development.
- Partners with HR Business Partner(s) for any HR, behavior standard violations or policy infringement.
- Serves as a role model for other leaders, staff, and providers.
- Responsible for creating a culture of innovation, learning, teamwork, and professional practice.
- Consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization, in partnership with physician leadership.
- Develops business plan and operational plans.
- Ensure efficiency of operations, fiscal control, and lead technology advancements.
- Assumes responsibility for quality, development, and operational leadership of assigned departments.
- Ensures and promotes positive employee and physician engagement.
- Maintains appropriate levels of patient engagement scores.
- Ability to lead staff, physicians, and APPs in growth and development projects, workflow changes, organizational changes, and changes to healthcare rules and regulations.
- Develops effective relationships with physicians and administration to market a plan.
- Promote growth of services Plans and participates in clinical and leadership development.
- Maintains accurate records and evaluates effectiveness of activities.
- Utilizes leadership and management skills to assist staff in providing age‑specific care.
- Utilizes succession and operational planning by development of the Partnership Council for operations management.
- Empowers staff to participate in decision making.
The compensation range for this position is $62.33 per hour - $107.21 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
