The Vice President of Casino Operations will serve as a strategic partner and key member of the executive leadership team, overseeing day-to-day casino operations and the strategic direction for the property.
Responsibilities- Exercise direct operational control over the management of gaming activities consistent with state regulations and company policies.
- Provide a high level of guest service and promote a positive attitude to create a fun and entertaining experience for guests and team members.
- Participate with the Executive Management Team in developing strategic and tactical plans to support property objectives.
- Develop operational plans to support short-term and long-term financial objectives.
- Develop and present requests for capital to support operational objectives.
- Develop and manage departmental expense budget.
- Work with IGB to maintain the integrity of the Casino Rules and Regulations.
- Direct the selection, purchase/lease, placement, and utilization of all gaming devices to ensure achievement of operational and financial objectives.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures consistent with state gaming rules and regulations and Internal Controls.
- Supervise Management and Supervisory staff to ensure optimum operating efficiencies and appropriate staffing of the casino.
- Support and comply with company policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and internal controls applicable to the Casino Operations division.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support business needs.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four‑year college or university, and/or 7 or more years of experience in Casino Operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Director‑level experience in Table Games and Slot Operations.
- Experience with CAD for casino layouts.
- Must understand and speak the English language.
- Lead staff development and training programs.
- Oversee rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.
- Evaluate team members within the department and deliver constructive feedback regarding performance.
- Recommend staffing, interview and hire, and schedule work to meet business needs.
- Determine work procedures and expedite workflow.
- Manage employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).
Ability to read, interpret and write routine reports and correspondence, and communicate effectively and diplomatically with executives, visitors, fellow employees, and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide) and compute rates and percentages.
Computer SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lotus Organizer) and comfortable searching and retrieving information from the Internet.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization, and interpret instructions in written, oral, or schedule form.
Physical DemandsRegularly requires sitting, talking, and hearing; walking; using hands and arms; occasional standing and lifting of up to 25 pounds. Vision needs include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to outside weather conditions; noise level usually quiet.

Starting SalaryStarting salary of $150,000, may increase with experience.
