Position: Lead - Material Handler 2 - 2nd shift

Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas, or electric-powered industrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or other elevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in distribution center or storage yard.

  • Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrial equipment, maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion, inspect assigned equipment daily, and operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations, efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of products are loaded and shipped.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, or containers.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage, report quality variances.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained, assist in physical inventories, and ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.

Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance, perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process, conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can’t be self-corrected to the leadership team, follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed, observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate, and perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: M-F 3:00PM to 11:30PM. OVERTIME MAY BE REQUIRED

Pay: $21.50/hr Plus $1 Shift Differential

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment (e.g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safety policies.
