As a key member of the operations team, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision of shift operations with a concentration on personnel safety, product quality, and operational effectiveness of the facility. The role follows and enforces all facility safety policies, ensuring the highest operational safety standards, and utilizes current and future quality control processes to ensure the product meets or exceeds IFCO Systems’ product quality standards.
The Shift Supervisor also meets or exceeds production goals as designated by senior management for the facility, manages all shift employees according to IFCO policies, maintains accurate inventory, and supports future duties and projects as assigned by management.
- Document shift processes including shift summary sheets, product wash sheets, recollection wash processes, quality processes and paperwork, and cleaning processes and paperwork.
- Enforce safety policies and processes for all personnel within the plant and ensure all PPE is worn per IFCO Systems standards.
- Provide personnel training and enforce all operational functions within the facility.
- Ensure all required expectations regarding quality, machine operation, productivity, and safety are met or exceeded.
- Follow best practices and SOPs concerning shift/machine operation ensuring effective and productive performance in keeping with the highest standards expected by IFCO Systems for their customers.
- Support and assist in future duties/projects as assigned by management.
- 3+ years of experience as a line supervisor.
- Previous leadership and supervisory position within a high-volume production operation.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with 25+ employees strongly preferred.
- Available to work Monday through Friday, with weekend duties during the busy time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both management and subordinates.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to diffuse personnel issues while minimizing disruption of operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Proven planning and organizational skills with the ability to handle high-volume operations.
