Manufacturing Engineer, Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
Seeking an Industrial / Manufacturing Engineer with strong expertise in CNC tube bending to design, develop, and optimize metal tube forming processes. This role will focus heavily on advanced tube-bending applications while also supporting broader manufacturing initiatives, including CNC machining, process improvement, and Industry 4.0 adoption.
This is a hands‑on engineering role driving efficiency, quality, and scalability across production operations.
Responsibilities- Design, program, set up, and optimize CNC tube‑bending processes (rotary draw, ram forming, push bending)
- Troubleshoot common defects such as wrinkling, flattening, and spring‑back
- Select and implement tooling including mandrels (plug/ball), wiper dies, and multi‑stack tooling
- Support CNC machining programming and integration (mills, lathes, machining centers) as the role evolves
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing principles
- Optimize equipment layouts and workflows to improve productivity and ergonomics
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards (OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA)
- Provide shop floor support by mentoring operators, developing work instructions, and resolving production issues
- Stay current on emerging technologies (Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing, simulation tools) and apply them to operations

Prevent deformation in tight‑radius applications - Wiper Dies:
Eliminate wrinkling in thin‑wall tubing - Multi‑Radius Bending:
Utilize advanced multi‑stack CNC equipment for complex parts
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in CNC tube bending (required)
- Strong hands‑on experience with tube bending setup, programming, and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, AutoCAD, or Inventor)
- Experience with CNC programming (G‑code/CAM) or strong willingness to learn
Contract to Hire position based out of Sullivan, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
