ResponsibilitiesA Machine and Wood Shop Support Worker provides assistance with information technology and laboratory tasks within the School of Engineering. Duties may include maintaining laboratory equipment, setting up, operating, and tending all types of woodworking machines, such as saws, milling machines, drill presses, sanders, and wood‑fastening machines. The employee will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements.
QualificationsThis job requires excellent communication skills, a proactive problem‑solving attitude, and a willingness to tackle unstructured projects. The candidate must be prompt, courteous, and dependable. A background in relevant technology as used at the time of application is required – this will be discussed during the interview. Knowledge of mathematics, mechanics, and respect for safety precautions is essential.
