Location: Illinois, United States Contract: 12-month Contract (2–3+ year scope)

We are supporting a leading pharma client in expanding its bulk processing capability in Illinois and are seeking a Bulk Support Engineer to support downstream purification operations. This role centres on chromatography and filtration – covering anion exchange, immunoaffinity and SMB chromatography, column handling and packing, UF/DF and virus nanofiltration – ensuring purification steps run consistently and to specification.
Key Responsibilities- Support chromatography operations across anion exchange, immunoaffinity and simulated moving bed (SMB) systems
- Perform and support column handling, packing and integrity checks
- Support UF/DF (ultrafiltration/diafiltration) and virus nanofiltration operations
- Troubleshoot downstream process and equipment deviations and support investigations
- Maintain GMP batch records, logbooks and process documentation
- Work with Manufacturing, Process Engineering and Quality to sustain purification throughput
- 3+ years in GMP biologics or biopharmaceutical downstream manufacturing
- Hands‑on experience with chromatography (ideally anion exchange, immunoaffinity or SMB) and column packing
- Working knowledge of UF/DF and/or virus filtration operations
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Experience across multiple chromatography modalities in a single facility
- Familiarity with virus nanofiltration and validation expectations
- Siemens automation experience (beneficial, not required)
